Greenwich Removals Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Greenwich Removals in relation to our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting our business ethically and responsibly, and to taking all reasonable steps to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place within our organisation or any part of our supply chain.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Greenwich Removals has a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced or compulsory labour, and child labour. We expect the same high standards from all those we work with, including employees, contractors, agency workers, suppliers, and business partners.
Modern slavery is a serious violation of fundamental human rights and is contrary to our values of integrity, fairness, and respect. Any suspected instance of modern slavery linked to our business will be treated as a matter of utmost urgency and importance. We reserve the right to terminate relationships with any individual or organisation that is found to be involved in, or turning a blind eye to, such practices.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Greenwich Removals provides removals, relocation, and associated services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, storage facilities, packaging materials, equipment, subcontracted labour, and ancillary services such as cleaning and waste management.
We recognise that some areas of our supply chain may present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where temporary, seasonal, or subcontracted labour is used, or where materials may originate from regions with weaker labour protections. We are committed to identifying, assessing, and reducing these risks.
Supplier Standards and Audit Measures
We require our key suppliers and subcontractors to uphold labour standards that are consistent with our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery. As part of our onboarding and ongoing relationship management, we seek assurances that:
They comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws in the countries where they operate. They do not use forced, bonded, or involuntary labour. Employment is freely chosen and workers are free to leave upon reasonable notice. Workers are of legal working age and not subjected to child labour. Conditions of work, including pay, hours, and health and safety, meet or exceed legal requirements.
We are developing and implementing a risk-based programme of supplier audits and assessments. This may include requesting documentation, conducting site visits where appropriate, and using questionnaires to evaluate compliance with our standards. Where concerns are identified, we will work with suppliers to agree improvement plans, with timescales and clear expectations. Failure to address serious or repeated issues may result in the termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Greenwich Removals encourages a culture of openness in which workers, suppliers, and other stakeholders feel able and supported to raise concerns about modern slavery without fear of retaliation. Any person who suspects that modern slavery may be occurring in connection with our business or supply chain is encouraged to report this to management at the earliest opportunity.
Reports can be made verbally or in writing to a line manager, senior manager, or directly to a designated member of the leadership team. All reports will be treated seriously, investigated promptly, and handled as sensitively and confidentially as practicable. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with relevant authorities and take immediate steps to protect any individuals who may be at risk.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in supplier selection, contract management, and on-site supervision. Training and guidance are being developed to help staff recognise signs of exploitation, understand our policies, and know how to respond to concerns.
We also seek to learn from emerging best practice, industry guidance, and feedback from stakeholders to strengthen our approach over time.
Monitoring and Annual Review
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by the leadership team of Greenwich Removals. The review will consider any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in our operations or supply chains, and developments in legal or regulatory requirements.
We will update this statement as necessary to reflect improvements in our policies, procedures, and controls. Our objective is continual enhancement of our ability to prevent, detect, and address any risk of modern slavery linked to our activities.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Greenwich Removals, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and ongoing effectiveness.
